SWIMMING WITH WHALE SHARKS

Swimming with whale sharks is a unique seasonal tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya. During this sea excursion, you will snorkel alongside the whale sharks in their natural environment, and also spend some time splashing in the turquoise waters of ‘Playa Norte’, the north beach of Isla Mujeres.

Our tour starts from your hotel. A tour guide will accompany you to the port in Cancun and inform you of all the details of your trip. All boats accommodate a maximum of 10 visitors. All safety equipment, including life vests (mandatory) and other equipment, is provided on board.

As we encounter wild animals in their natural environment, the boat trip to the snorkeling area takes roughly one to two hours to reach the location where whale sharks swim. During the snorkeling, you will be accompanied by a mariner who will help you navigate towards the whale sharks. Depending on the weather conditions, you will make two jumps into the ocean, but in some rare cases, jumps may be canceled at the discretion of the boat captain.

After the snorkeling experience, the boat will head to the water area of Playa Norte, the "north beach" of Isla Mujeres. Here, your boat will remain anchored a short distance from the coast, allowing you time to swim, while your tour team prepares a lunch that includes a ceviche salad. Afterwards, the boat will return to the port. Your minibus will be waiting to return you to your hotel.

To join the tour, you do not need special skills.
